The Blog: My Half of Ithaculture
I love everything about my personal Shangri-La, Ithaca, NY. But if I had to pick one aspect of its culture to blog about, it would be the city’s driving ambition to stay out of the mainstream and to keep its unique, individual flavor alive and kicking. I’ll be bringing you arts, entertainment and things to do in Ithaca that defy the terms ‘generic,’ ‘recognized’ and ‘orthodox.’ So, fasten your seat belts and get ready to feel the Fringe Benefits. My posts will be in dark red!
The Author: Norah Sweeney
I’m a sophomore at Ithaca College, majoring in journalism and double-minoring in anthropology and art history. I was born in a little town on the Jersey Shore, but when I was 6, my family moved to an American military base in northern Japan called Misawa. (Misawa means “Three Swamps,” but don’t ask me where they are). I’m interested in everything, and have a deep, sincere love for learning. If I had things my way, I’d spent the rest of my life traveling, eating and writing ( just like Anthony Bourdain). Feel free to friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter! And if you’d like to see more of my writing, check out Imprint Magazine. I edit the Music section, write a music news blog called The Relayer, and write an article once in a while!
